Six throat letters: ء ه from the deepest part, ع ح from the middle, غ خ from the top of the throat (nearest the mouth).
Letters: ء ه ع ح غ خ
Al-Lisan (tongue)
Eighteen letters come from different parts of the tongue touching the palate, gums or teeth: ق ك (back of tongue), ج ش ي (middle), ض (side), ل ن ر (edge/tip), ط د ت (tip with upper gums), ص س ز (tip near lower teeth), ظ ذ ث (tip with edges of upper front teeth).

Letters: ف ب م و
Al-Khayshum (nasal cavity)

Letters: ن م (ghunnah)
Sifaat (Characteristics of Letters)
Hams & Jahr (whisper / voiced)
Hams letters let the breath flow out with them (gathered in فحثه شخص سكت). All other letters are jahr — the breath is held back and the sound is strong.

Letters: خ ص ض غ ط ق ظ
Itbaq & Infitah (closing / opening)
In ص ض ط ظ the middle of the tongue presses against the palate, giving the heaviest sound. In all other letters the tongue stays apart from the palate.

When stopping, make the last letter sakin. On do zabar read an Alif; on round ة read ه; on do zer or do pesh drop the tanween. Breathe only at the stop, then begin again.
